Excavation of the Rosenthal Project continues. With a number of excavators on site, the team has removed approximately 105,369 Tonnes of material.
This excavated material consists of Ashfield Shale, which is a fine-grained claystone, mudstone or siltstone, overlying Hawkesbury Sandstone. The majority of the softer material has been excavated and removed from site, allowing the team to continue removing the firmer material towards the bottom of the overall excavation.
It is estimated that the southern area of the site is currently at a level that equates to approximately 15 metres below street level.
